While she lived there, she stayed with her three sisters and her brother and parents. She was raised native american - Halfblood, unlike her siblings due to their mother dying and her father marrying Mai's mother. Despite this fact, her siblings and she had grown extremely close despite the fact that her parents were often gone doing work. She, being the youngest of the family and yet most sensible sibling, would often take care of her elder siblings. Her life at school and socially was surprisingly hard, since she was often in rebellions or riots and usually causing trouble the only freinds outside of her family she had was a romanian girl named Inca and a boy named Alex. Her freinds and family used to call her 'Mai' which means, Coyote because she was very cunning and very bright for her age. She often reminded them of the At Fifteen she was forced to leave the country due to her father's contamination and the spreading of a horrible disease and riots becoming more and more violent. She moved to live with a family known as O'casey and lived with them for about three months, getting word of the death of her father, rape of her eldest sister, the contamination of her brother and then all together death of her sisters and mother during a riot during those three months.
In the fourth month she was taken by some government officials as what only she could describe as 'The Asylum'.
"I remember my room...god it was horrible...it always smelled like burning flesh and the walls and my bed was always wet from the leak in my ceiling. Some one stole my blanket, so all I had was a sheet to sleep under. I remeber hearing people trying to commit suicide during the night, but the people took away your necklaces and shoe strings and stuff so you can't. Some one banged their head agaisnt the wall hard enough, though. Right across from me, in the cell. Some one else drown themselves in the toilet. They put cameras in and started strapping us to the bed before we slept. I remember tests they used to run on us...They were so horrible...I hated it there...I still hate it...it was like one big nightmare...but I didn't wake up..." - Mai describing 'The Asylum'.
At 18 during a routine transportation to another facility in Britain, the girl escaped and somehow managed to dispose of her handcuffs and cut her long black hair. She was only recognizable by the basic white dress issued by the facility she wore, but she soon managed to steal a new set of clothes and make her way into the main of Britain and blend in where is living today, looking for a way to win back freedom not only for her home and family but also for this new home. After living in the Asylum for a few years she learned some 'Interesting Tricks'.
Super-Hero, Super-Villain, other: Hero
Example of Roleplay:
The girl stepped out from the alleyway in which she had managed to change, wearing a longsleeved grey shirt and a blue vest over it. she wore baggy brown pants and plain tennis shoes as she looked around, her once long, thick black hair now cut short and choppy. She turned and began walking with the flow of what few people were out, that night, down the street, avoiding personell inconspicuously. She managed to find a nice dark ally to walk down, ignoring her troubles for once as she thought of starting a new life here. Of somehow picking up the pieces and moving on, but she knew that these were merely dreams one could not hope to come true. She knew what they had done to her family and she knew what they had done to her and she knew it was unjust. She hoped the same thing wouldn't happen here but, "Curfews? Authorized personell only? Its like a bad flashback..." she murmured to herself as she continued on, passing a bum on the street.
She paused, hearing footsteps other than her own, and turned just in time to see some one sink back into the darkness. The young woman sighed, and brushed her short black bangs out of her eyes before turning and continuing down the narrow path. She heard the footsteps again, and broke into a run. The steps quickened with her until she darted into a small nook in one of hte allys that led up a fire escape. She watched as the man, one in a large overcoat wearing a blue hat and a white shirt, ran up the fire escape in an attempt to catch up with her as she hid behind some boxes below. Her large eyes examined him until he reached the very top and darted onto the roof, and she stood up and slunk away into a nearby storage facility.
"It is no different...." she muttured before squeezing herself between a large crate and a corner and curling up. She closed her eyes and hugged her knees to her chest. She fell asleep like that, letting the troubles wait until morning.
